Our philanthropy
Gamma Phi Beta's philanthropic partner is Girls on the Run. This influential organization is a confidence building, activity-based youth development program. Girls on the Run is currently available to girls ranging from 3rd to 8th grade, which is an opportune time to inspire young girls to be the best they can be. It also provides motivation for girls to be healthy and confident by having exciting, experienced-based curriculum that incorporates running in a fun and enjoyable way! Girls are able to set goals for themselves throughout the program and once they've accomplished those goals, it builds further confidence which in return can positively impact their future goals in life. Our chapter collaborates and supports Girls on the Run by becoming mentors and running coaches. We also fundraise for Girls on the Run during our annual Crescent Classic pancake philanthropy and Moonball basketball tournament!
Our dedication to building strong girls and encouraging them to be the best they can began in the 1920's as Gamma Phi Beta's identified a desire to provide underprivileged girls a retreat from their daily circumstances, to learn about themselves and build character. Considering our mission statement is "to inspire the highest type of womanhood," it is rewarding for us as members to work with younger girls and act as an inspiration to them. Girls need women in their lives who can help them develop the skills they need to succeed in life. Gamma Phi's are those women! As advocates for women, our organization envisions a community where every girl and woman has the skills to succeed and prosper in life.
